DYED PAPERMAKING PULP

Dyed Papermaking Pulp Colour Chart

The quarterly journal of the British Association of Paper Historians published an article (no.65 January 2008 pp 20-28) by Alan Buchanan on a visual system to make matching infills for missing areas of works of art on paper. A copy can be downloaded from this website. The article describes how to dye pulp and how to use dyed pulp to create matching infills.

The system relies on eight colour charts of six different depths of shade (1/8% to 4%) and two different levels of brilliance. We supply the colour charts and the dyed pulp for those who wish to use the system.
